California Veteran License Plate

California's Veteran license plate was introduced in 1994, and has embossed blue lettering on the optional reflective red, white and blue VETERAN graphic base. On the left of the serial number is an area reserved for a decal representing the insignia of military, national guard or reserve unit. Regular sequential series have 3 letter alpha combination, followed by 3 digit serial number in ABC123 format. It can also be personalized with up to 6 characters. Veteran license plates are available to anyone residing in California without additional requirements.
